How to learn card magic tricks
Magic tricks involving cards are the most popular in magic. Who hasn’t seen the infamous “find the card” trick at one time or another? If you want to learn card magic tricks your first stop should be to download a great card tricks system to really skyrocket your knowledge and shorten the learning curve. These tricks are easiest to learn because all you need is a deck of cards and in some cases one willing participant.
Step One: Card magic is simple and fun to do. It can be performed anywhere and anytime. If you have ever watched David Blaine perform his street magic, you know that this is true. With quick, precise movements and a little misdirection you can successfully amaze your audience. There are many different card tricks to learn but no matter how often you perform them they will always leave people smiling and wondering how you did that. Some might think the card deck is a gimmick or trick cards but really you are only using a plain old deck of playing cards.
Step Two: The vanishing card trick is a must for beginners of magic or if you just want to entertain family and friends. All you do is take a card, throw it up in the air and it disappears. Start out using just one card to perform this trick. Once you master this you can use multiple cards. You can also do the reverse and make cards reappear from out of thin air too. Imagine the look of surprise on your audience’s face when you make a card disappear and then reappear right in front of their eyes.
Step Three: The secret is in how you hold the card. Place the card between your thumb, index and middle fingers. The face of the card must be toward your audience. As you pretend to throw the card into the air, make a fist. Slip your fingers behind the card so that your thumb, which is now pressing against your knuckles, is now holding the card. Release your thumb and stretch out your fingers, keeping a hold on the card. It has now disappeared behind your hand. Remember to keep your fingers together and slowly keep your hand in motion. As you are learning this trick, the corners may peek out a little from between your fingers. This is okay; just try to keep your hands moving. This trick is also known as back palming for obvious reasons.
Step Four: All well-known magician and practitioners of magic started out by doing small tricks. They had to learn card magic tricks before progressing to bigger and more elaborate forms of illusion. Card magic is also a good trick for children to learn, although young kids may have difficulty back palming the card with their smaller hands. For those on a budget this trick is great because you don’t need to purchase any supplies. Basically everyone has a deck of cards in their house.
